Lapometry is operated by Curious Manner, LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

1.What we collect from you

  • Account details — your first and last name, email address, password (stored hashed, never in readable form), and your home track.
  • Your username, chosen when you first turn on public sharing.
  • Transponder numbers you claim, which is how we connect published results to your account.
  • What you write — session notes, car names, setups, and setup changes.
  • Usage — when you sign in, and errors the app hits, so we can keep it working. We also count page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which reports visits in aggregate and does not use cookies.

2.What we never collect

Card details. Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card number never reaches our servers. Stripe's privacy policy covers what they hold.

3.Data we get from somewhere other than you

Most of what Lapometry shows you did not come from you. It comes from RC race timing results that timing providers — principally LiveRC — publish publicly on their own websites: heat sheets, lap times, finishing positions, driver names, transponder numbers.

We read those published results and analyse them. This includes results for racers who do not have a Lapometry account. We attribute the source on every page that shows this data, and we are not affiliated with LiveRC or with any track.

If you are named in results on Lapometry and want something done about it, write to legal@lapometry.com and tell us what you are asking for. We will act on reasonable requests, including removing a name from public pages we control. We cannot remove the results from the timing provider's own site — that is theirs, not ours.

4.Why we use your data

  • To run your account and show you your own analysis.
  • To take payment and manage your subscription (through Stripe).
  • To send you email you need: a password reset when you ask for one, and a welcome message when you create your account. We do not send marketing email.
  • To keep the Service working and secure.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

5.What becomes public when you choose to share

Nothing you do in Lapometry is public until you make it public. Two things can be:

A share. When you share a session or a race result, Lapometry creates a page at a public URL. Anyone with the link can read it, and search engines may index it. The page shows your display name, your username, and your results — and for a shared race result, the other drivers in that race, by name, with their published times. You can revoke a share at any time, which stops the link working, and a share stops working if your subscription ends.

Your public profile. If you turn on your public profile, a page at lapometry.com/your-username lists the shares you have published. There is a separate, off-by-default setting that adds a live summary of your recent form to that page.

Both are off until you turn them on.

6.Cookies

We set two first-party cookies: one that keeps you signed in, and one that remembers when you are viewing the public demo. There are no third-party cookies and no cross-site tracking. The drivers you choose to follow are remembered in your own browser's storage, not in a cookie.

7.Email

We send transactional email through Resend, which processes the recipient address and message in order to deliver it.

8.How long we keep things, and deletion

We keep your account data while your account exists.

You can delete your account at any time from your settings. When you do:

  • every public share you have created is revoked — those links stop working;
  • your notes, setups, username, and account details are deleted;
  • published race results that mention you remain published by the timing provider. Those are not ours to delete.

We keep a minimal billing record after deletion where we are required to for tax and accounting.

9.Where data is held

Our database and application are hosted in the United States (Supabase and Vercel). We sell subscriptions only to customers in the United States. If you use Lapometry from outside the United States, your data is processed in the US.

10.Your rights

Write to legal@lapometry.com and we will:

  • tell you what we hold about you;
  • correct anything wrong;
  • delete your account and data;
  • send you a copy of the data you have put in.

11.Children

Lapometry is for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If we learn we have, we will delete it and close the account. If you believe a child under 16 has an account, write to legal@lapometry.com.

12.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The version and effective date are at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell account holders before it takes effect.
